Building.

Whether we know it or not, we are constantly building.  The structure is either solid or shaky.   At The Mediation House, when the construction has begun to crumble, we help to restore. Or, rebuild. One plank at a time.  Brick by brick.  We facilitate to construct productive conversations leading to common ground in which to resituate. Resettle.

Whole mansions of conflict can be demolished and frames of new thinking rebuilt with the right planning and prep work, foundation and framing, systems and rough-ins, finishes and detailing, and … skilled organization and facilitation during each phase.  That’s where we excel.  Working together, we can keep level on the ground, and shave every door to fit a new frame.

Built on a decade of tradition and sensibilities, and dedicated to innovating in the area of conflict resolution, The Mediation House is a team of passionate thinkers and doers, helping others to build with purpose and clarity.

We are committed to guiding you through every facet of your mediation journey:

From laying the groundwork for resolution; to moving past the blueprints to a lasting agreement.

From framing a path forward; to constructing common ground.

From the deepest and darkest night of effort; to the light of a brand new day.

The Mediation House is your trusted partner to assist in building a solid foundation to carry through after the final signature.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”

~Socrates

How we work together

The Mediation House is a global mediation and conflict resolution team that focuses on healthy conversations geared towards finding solutions, and resolving conflict.

Located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the team accommodates in-person mediation needs for those conflicts in the area of South Central Pennsylvania, while also serving globally through secure, online platforms.

The Mediation House is comprised of a seasoned management team and a group of highly skilled, “in-house” mediators who enjoy their craft, and, through countless hours of experience, have mastered the craft of negotiation, perfected the art of understanding, and have grown proficient at creating a safe and healthy environment where decisions can be made. This “in-house” approach, coupled with years of mediation experience, allows us to provide expert professional service to our clients.

Our goal as a team: To have individuals resolve their own conflicts before an outsider is forced to complete, conclude, decide, and determine a course of action, without interest or concern for the individuals involved, which might mean an unacceptable resolution.

Our team strives for greater efficiency, less stress, and a more economical way to handle disputes.

THE RIGHT QUESTION

IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN

THE RIGHT ANSWER.

~ PLATO

Ancient Greek philosopher, innovator of the written dialogue, and the foundational thinker and father of Western philosophy, Plato believed in truth-seeking over winning and the use of reason to build bridges between adversaries. Born some 400 years BC, Plato believed curiosity gives rise to creativity and the right question is more important than the right answer. The latter closed the mind, while the former opened it.

We embrace Plato’s philosophy, and believe the endless questioning of a thought or idea serves to further form and polish it, can render it more valuable, and at times, leads to a vision of something unimaginable.

At The Mediation House, we hold a deep belief that none of us are smarter than all of us. That we need all of the brains in the game and the egos out of the room. That we need to think until it hurts, until we can see what others cannot see, so we can do what others cannot do. It is a culture of questions and collaborations, relationships that become partnerships, ideas that become innovations, and visions that become reality.

As you peruse the possibility of linking with MH, you will witness the work, the partnership, and the language of countless questions and curious minds turning mountains into level ground that defines the road of meeting in the middle.

While it’s been over 2,400 years since Plato and his contemporaries asked the questions that elevated our way of thinking, only a countless few still hold onto the communication and language that defines solutions.

With our minds open, MH is always in search of better questions to unveil a way of thinking that has a tendency to be forgotten in the distractions of emotion.

Let’s be inquisitive, first. And frame questions. To build bridges. And restore a future.

A couple is embracing closely, with their foreheads touching and eyes closed, outdoors during sunset. The man is wearing glasses, a white t-shirt, and a gold chain, and has a short fade hairstyle. The woman has long wavy hair, and a delicate ring on her finger. Their body language expresses affection and intimacy.
